97+ Points from Jeb Dunnuck

2013 Thomas-Hsi Vineyards THV Proprietary Red

“The wine is full-bodied with terrific depth of fruit and concentration, wonderful balance, a sumptuous, elegant texture, and present tannins that are nicely coved by the wine’s terrific fruit. It’s more approachable than the Cabernet Sauvignon (although it’s more concentrated than the 2012) and should continue drinking beautifully for 20 years or more.”

2013 Thomas-Hsi Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder

“ It’s a backward, concentrated, full-bodied bruiser of a wine that has loads of blackcurrants, sagebrush, graphite, and lead pencil-like aromas and flavors. Deep, rich, full-bodied, and concentrated, it needs 4-5 years of cellaring and is a 30-year wine.”

2012 Thomas-Hsi Vineyards THV Proprietary Red

“It offers a glorious, almost Graves-like bouquet (it reminds me of a great vintage of Haut Bailly) of red and black currants, dried tobacco, earth, and flowery spice. Hitting the palate with medium to full-bodied richness and ample power, it’s incredibly elegant and ethereal, with sweet tannins, no hard edges, and a sumptuous, seamless, weightless mouthfeel. Given its awesome balance, it should age effortlessly for 2+ decades.”

2012 Thomas-Hsi Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder

“Its saturated purple/plum color is followed by classic Mount Veeder notes of sagebrush and bay leaf as well as ample blackcurrant and plum fruits, graphite, smoke tobacco and earth. Gorgeous on the palate, with full-bodied richness yet considerable elegance and purity, it has ripe tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. Drink this beauty any time over the coming 20-25 years.”

"The 2013 THV is astounding in quality—one of the red wines of the vintage and probably Charles Thomas’ best-ever wine (out of hundreds he has produced)."

2012 Thomas-Hsi Cabernet Sauvignon

"This is a glorious example of micro-production Cabernet at its best! The bouquet is intense, offering plenty of blackberry, crème de cassis, crushed violets, and anise. There is a distinctive mountain quality here, with pure dark fruit, briary notes, baking chocolate and youthful structure. This wine is densely packed right now and will continue to age gracefully in the cellar for a decade or more!"

"This is a truly remarkable wine. This wine is amazingly well-crafted and loaded with gorgeous flavors from start to finish. A real crowd pleaser, this 175 case estate-grown production. Because of the limited production, and the fact I was only allocated 5 cases of this wines, I can tell you that this wine will sell out fast. Don’t wait too long to get in your order! This is a wine that you can drink now (decant a good two hours before serving) and will cellar well for a good 10-15 years."
